1 Children and Families Estate Review: Rationalisation and Development Programme
In response to a continued need to manage the supply of education and care facilities with a view to ensure the delivery of best value, the Council had considered a framework for a review of the entire Children and Families property estate. That matter was the subject of detailed consultation.

“Schools threatened with closure across Scotland could win reprieves after the release of powerful new guidance from the Scottish Government.
Education Secretary Fiona Hyslop yesterday sent a letter to all local authorities in Scotland highlighting the importance of preserving quality education in schools, rather than moving to closure to save money, or because of short-term population fluctuations.”

“OFFICIALS have warned that the crumbling state of Portobello High is harming pupils’ education.A report carried out by HM Inspectors said the school’s poor heating and ventilation was affecting the performance of students.
